To improve the experience for visitors and ensure a smooth flow of devotees, the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri is preparing to implement a new dhadi (queue) darshan system. Originally planned for January 20, the launch has been delayed to February 1 due to the need to relocate the temple's 'hundi' inside the Natya Mandap. The process requires several government permissions, which are currently being secured. Many Devotees Affected By Srimandir Rush At Shree Jagannath Temple In Puri
Unprecedented rush was witnessed at the Shree Jagannath Temple here as thousands made a beeline to catch a glimpse of the holy Trinity here on Tuesday which marked the last five days of the month of Kartik. Over 5 lakh people are believed to have visited the shrine during the day. Till this report was filed, 'darshan' was continuing. Such was the rush that people had to stand in barricaded queue for more than one kilometre along Bada Danda (Grand Road). Jagannath Temple In Puri Reopens After 9 Months With Covid-19 Protocols
Lord Jagannath temple in Odisha's Puri reopened for public on Wednesday after being closed for nine months due to coronavirus pandemic. On the first day of reopening, the families of the servitors were only given access to enter the temple for the next three days and Puri residents' entry will be allowed from December 26. The Puri district administration and the Shree Jagannath Temple Committee (SJTA) have made elaborate arrangements to ensure devotees adhere to all the Covid-19 safety norms strictly.
