Kashi Declared 'no-fly Zone' During Dev Deepawali Festival
VARANASI: In anticipation of the illustrious Dev Deepawali festival on November 15, 2024, the Varanasi Police Commissionerate has proclaimed the entire city a "no-fly zone" under the prevailing Section 163 BNSS to sustain security and maintain public order.
According to the directive from the Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order), Varanasi Commissionerate, this restriction shall be enforced from midnight on November 12 to midnight on November 16.
Due to the convergence of lakhs of devotees, local inhabitants, and numerous distinguished guests during the Dev Deepawali festival, heightened vigilance towards security arrangements and public order is imperative.
Considering the multitude and movement of special guests, a comprehensive prohibition has been imposed on the utilisation of drones, kites, balloons, remote-controlled micro lights aircraft, and paragliders without authorisation.
This measure has been implemented acknowledging that the deployment of these items could constitute a security risk.
